John Daniel VI (1702-1762)

He was born about 1702 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony and died about 1762 in Granville County, North Carolina Colony. He was the son of John Daniel III (1669-1724) and probably Ann Bates.


John married Anne Williams, born about 1708 in York County, Virginia Colony and died about 1761 in Halifax County, Virginia Colony, daughter of John "Jonathan" Williams III and probably Mary Keeling, about 1725/28 in Virginia Colony.


The had the following children:
  • Sarah "Patsy", was born about 1725 in York County, Virginia and died about 1761 in Halifax County, Virginia. She married:
    • John Harrison, born about 1712 in Orange County, Virginia and died about 1761 in Halifax County, Virginia, son of Andrew Harrison and Elizabeth Battaile, about 1743 in Carolina County, Virginia.
      • They had the following children:
        • James Mason, Richard Benjamin, Mary "Polly" and  Isham
  • Elisabeth, was born about 1730 in York County, Virginia and died about 1777 in Virginia. She married:
    • Christopher Dudley Esq., born about 1715 in Middlesex County, Virginia and died about 1781 in Halifax County, Virginia, son of Robert Dudley and Elizabeth Curtis, about 1742/1748.
      • They had the following children:
        • Ann, Sarah, Guilford, Agatha, Linton, Ransom and Elizabeth
  • James, was born about 1731 in York County, Virginia and died about 1786 in Granville County, North Carolina. He probably married Sarah Cooke/ Cocker. (uncertain)
  • Martha, was born about 1739. She married Barbey.
  • *Capt. John Williams V (1745-1809), was born about 1742 in Granville County, North Carolina and died about 1809 in Granville County, North Carolina. He married:
    • Unknown Henderson?
    • Mary Jones?
      • John had the following children:
        • Zadock, *Martha and Mary; Stepchildren: Jonathan Graves and Frances Graves

In the Name of God Amen-
I John Daniel of Granville County in the province of North Carolina
this nineteen day of June one thousand seven hundred & sixty two being of sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to almighty god for the same, and Calling to mind the Uncertain Estate of Mankind and that it is appointed for all men once to die, to make Constitute, appoint, and Ordain this my last will and Testament in Writing, hereby Revoking and disanulling all other wills heretofore by me made, that is to Say, First of all, I give my Soul into the hands of god that gave it. 

Nothing doubting but at the general Resurection I Shall Receive the Same again, by the Mighty power of god, and my body to be buried in Desent, Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter by me Named, AND as touching my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased almighty god to bless me with in this life, I give, bequeath, and dispose of the Same in Manner and form following-

ITEM I lend to my well beloved wife Anne all my Estate both Real and personal during her life and after her decease all my Estate both Real and personal tobe Equally divided between my 
five children Vizt. James Daniel, John Williams Daniel, Sarah Harisson, Martha Barbey, Elisabeth Dudley to them their heirs and assigns forever.

AND as I am informed that I did Some years past make a Deed of gift to my daughter Elisabeth Dudley, wife of Christopher Dudley, my Negro wench, Hannah, together with her increase, I do hereby declare the Said gift to bw Void and Entirely Contrary to my Will. I not being in my proper senses at the Execution of the Said Dee of gift. And do by this present writing appoint James Daniel and John wms. Daniel my Executors to this my last will & Testament
