John Daniell was used as a right by Joseph (Crashaw) Croshaw for the taking of land in York County, Virginia. W. B. Newman reports that 1653 was the date of arrival in Virginia for John of York. There is reference (John L. Daniel of Hendersonville, TN., Register Report, 27 Nov. 1997.) that lists John Daniel, son of Roger Daniell, Sr., as being transported by Joseph Croshaw along with 4 others. "In the Name of God Amen I John Daniell of the county of Northampton in Virginia Planter beinge in perfect health of body and sound minde and memory (Blessed bee God) But consideringe with my selfe the frailty and uncertainty of this present transitory Life and that all flesh must Ressigne to Death when it pleaseth God to Call Have made and ordained this my last will & testament in manner & forme following (vizt). First and principally I humbly Comit & Comend my Soule to all mighty God my Creator. In the name of God, Amen, the last will and testiment of Mr. John Dannell I doe first bequeath my soule to God Almighty and my body to the Earth from which it came.I do first give to my eldest son, John Dannell, all my lands, houses, orchard and plantation unto him and his heires forever, and if my aforesaid son dyes without heires, then to return to my son William Dannell, and heires forever, and hee dyes without heirs then to return to my eldest daughter ? and her heires forever, and if shee dyes without heirs then to return to my youngest daughter and her heires for ever, and for my psnell estate,. In the name of God Amen, I, John Daniel, of the Parish of Bruton of the County of York am week in body but of perfect sense and memory do make this my last will and testament bequeathing my Soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently buried at the direction of my _______________ Exet. Herein named and as for my temporal estate that it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath as followeth after my just debts and funeral charges are paid.IMPRINIS. I give and bequeath unto my eldest son John Daniel, the one half of that tract of land lying in Hanover County that I lately bought of John Bryant where he is now lately seated or this plantation in York County whereon I now live, which of of them he shall make choice of to him and his heirs forever, and the remainder part, after he hath made his choice, whether it be that in Hanover County or this plantation in York County, I give unto my son Williams Daniel and to him and his heirs forever.ITEM. I John Daniel of Granville County in the province of North Carolina
this nineteen day of June one thousand seven hundred & sixty two being of sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to almighty god for the same, and Calling to mind the Uncertain Estate of Mankind and that it is appointed for all men once to die, to make Constitute, appoint, and Ordain this my last will and Testament in Writing, hereby Revoking and disanulling all other wills heretofore by me made, that is to Say, First of all, I give my Soul into the hands of god that gave it. 

Nothing doubting but at the general Resurection I Shall Receive the Same again, by the Mighty power of god, and my body to be buried in Desent, Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter by me Named, AND as touching my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased almighty god to bless me with in this life, I give, bequeath, and dispose of the Same in Manner and form following-

ITEM I lend to my well beloved wife Anne all my Estate both Real and personal during her life and after her decease all my Estate both Real and personal tobe Equally divided between my 
five children Vizt. James Daniel, John Williams Daniel, Sarah Harisson, Martha Barbey, Elisabeth Dudley to them their heirs and assigns forever.

I not being in my proper senses at the Execution of the Said Dee of gift. And do by this present writing appoint James Daniel and John wms. In the name of God Amen, I John William Daniel of Warren County and State of North Carolina being of sound perfect mind and disposing memory, doh make and constitute this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and annulling all other Wills heretofore made by me do declair this to contain my Will as to the disposal of what Estate or Wordly goods it has been pleased God to bless me with
After all my just debts and funeral charges are paid, I lend unto my beloved wife Mary Daniel the use and possession of all my Estate Real and personal during her natural life and after her death to be disposed of in manner and form following, Imprimus,

I give bequeath & devise unto my son Zadock Daniel after the death of my wife my land and plantation wheron I now live together with my two Negroes David and Jerryto him his heirs and assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Marthy Vaughan my two Negroes Luke and Lucy together with fifty dollars, in cash out of the monies arising out of the sale of my property have often named to her, her heirs and assigns forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Stamper my Negroes Peter, Jinny, Cooley and their increase to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my step son Jonath Graves one hundred dollars to be paid him by my Executors out of the money arising out of the sale of my property hereafter named.

Item I give and bequeath to my step daughter Francis Trice one bed of furniture and my cupboard to her and her heirs &c all the residue of my property not yet disposed of except my old Negroes Sam and Nanny will to be sold to the highest bidder upon twelve months credits bond and approved security to be taken by my Executors, hereafter named, and the monies arising from such sale (except what is heretofore appropriated) in the manner and form following If any of the Negroes heretofore bequeathed to my children should die before the death of my said Wife, it is my Will and desire that they have so much of said money or shall be the value of said Negroes, and if more than one of my children shall have a Negroe or Negroes to die before the death of my said Wife, the value of the Negroes so lost shall be maid up to each child losing the Negroes, and if there should not be money enough to answer that purpose, they are to have in proportion to their several losses.

The two old Negroes not yet disposed of, it is my Will and desire should be sold to the highest bidder, amongst my children, and the money arising from the sale to be disposed of as the money arising from the sale of my other property, but in case they should be so old and infirm, that none of my children shall be willing to take them, then it is my desire that the one of my children that will take and maintain them for the best, shall have them, and my other children shall pay the one so taking said Negroes out of their legacies herein left them, and to further my will and desire that all the money left out of the sales of my property that is not herein disposed of be equally divided amongst my aforesaid three children.

Lastly I do hereby nominate my son Zadock Daniel and my son in law, William Stamper my Executors to this my last Will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of May A.D. 1809.

Reverend John Lothropp

also known as Lowthorp, Lathrop, Lothrop

He was baptized on December 20, 1584, probably in Etton, Eastriding, Yorkshire, England and died on November 11, 1653 in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony, Massachussets.

He was the son Thomas Lothrop and Mary Howell.

Reverend John Lothropp was admitted to the degree Bachelor of Arts at Queen´s College in 1606 and to the Master of Arts in 1609; was pastor of the First Independent or Congregational Church at London; was in jail for non-conformist preaching and was sent into exile; arrived with his family on the ship Griffin at Boston September 18, 1634 with about 100 passengers and livestock and proceeded to Scituate, Plymouth Colony; removed to Barnstable in 1639 and was first minister there.

First he married Hannah Howse (House), born in Eastwell, Kent, England and died on February 16, 1633 in London, England, probably the daughter of Reverend John Howse and Alice Lloyd, on October 10, 1610 in Eastwell, Kent, England.

    • Elizabeth Scrudder, born before 1625 and died about 1688, daughter of John Scrudder and Elizabeth Stoughton, on November 28, 1644 in Barnstable, Barnstable, Plymouth Colony.
