Judith Fuller

She was born about 1791 in  Granville County, North Carolina, United States of America and died aft 1860 in Granville County, North Carolina, United States of America. She was the daughter of Jonathan Fuller and Celia Carden.

She married Gideon Coghill, born about 1788/1791 in Franklin County, North Carolina and died abt 1858 in Granville County, North Carolina, on December 28, 1814 in Granville County, North Carolina.

Judith and Gideon had the following children:
  1. James "O'Kelly" was born on January 4, 1816 in Granville County, North Carolina and died on Jan 2 1891 in Vance County, North Carolina.
    • He married Ann Elizabeth Bledsoe about 1837.
      • They had the following children:
        • Kinchen Wesley, Joseph Wily, James Norfleet, Jonathan Fuller and Ann Elizabeth.
  2. Lucy was born on Dec 1819 in Granville County, North Carolina and died on March 17, 1901 in Vance County, North Carolina.
    • She married William Biggs, son of  Willis Biggs and Lucy Parrish, on January 11, 1857 in Granville County, North Carolina.
      • They had the following children:
        • Benjamin Franklin, William Joseph and Lucy Ann.
  3. Sabrina Harriet was born on Apr 1829 in Granville County, North Carolina and died after 1900.
    • She married George Willis Grissom, son of Willis Grissom and Elizabeth Dickerson, on March 2, 1847 in Granville County, North Carolina.
      • They had the following children:
        • Mary J. and George Willis.
  4. Robert "Ruben" Chesley was born on November 17, 1830 in Granville County, North Carolina and died on April 1, 1906 in Vance County, North Carolina.
    • He married Elizabeth Alice Rooker, daughter of Presley Rooker and Nancy Pegram, on December 8, 1852 in Franklin County, North Carolina.
      • They had the following children:
        • Sarah Ann, Elizabeth, Mary Alice, Charles Benton, Cornelia A, Presley H., Richard Walter, Robert Henry Bryant and William Chesley.
  5. William E was born on June 1835 in Granville County, North Carolina and died about 1905 in Vance County, North Carolina.
    • First he married Harriet Arrington, daughter of John Arrington and Mary Elizabeth Jones, on December 22, 1858 in Mecklenburg, Virginia.
      • They had the following children:
        • Lucy A, William Norfleet, George Milton and Harriet Arrington.
    • Second he married Julia B Overby, daughter of John Overby and Sarah Ann Chandler, on January 12, 1870 in Halifax County, Virginia.
      • They had the following children:
        • Sallie, Thomas Gideon and Benjamin.
  6. Calvin Yancey was born about 1844 in Granville County, North Carolina and died on May 5, 1910 in North Carolina.
    • He married Melissa Bledsoe, daughter of Jordan Bledsoe and Martha Ann Coghill, on July 31, 1864 in Franklin County, North Carolina.
      • They had the following children:
        • Lucie, James Norphlet and Martha
  7. George was born about 1846 in Granville County, North Carolina

John Daniel I (1626-1679)



He was born about 1626 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England and died about 1679 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia Colony. He was the son of Roger Daniel III and Ann Cary.

The following is from Heinemann, Family 1, 1949: "John Daniel; 11-8-1653 transported to VA by Joseph Crashaw who got land in York Co., VA." Another reference: According to "Early Virginia Immigrants, 1623 - 1666". Call Number 2370, a Daniell, John, 1642, by John Harlowe, Northampton County

John Daniell was used as a right by Joseph (Crashaw) Croshaw for the taking of land in York County, Virginia. W. B. Newman reports that 1653 was the date of arrival in Virginia for John of York. There is reference (John L. Daniel of Hendersonville, TN., Register Report, 27 Nov. 1997.) that lists John Daniel, son of Roger Daniell, Sr., as being transported by Joseph Croshaw along with 4 others. "In the Name of God Amen I John Daniell of the county of Northampton in Virginia Planter beinge in perfect health of body and sound minde and memory (Blessed bee God) But consideringe with my selfe the frailty and uncertainty of this present transitory Life and that all flesh must Ressigne to Death when it pleaseth God to Call Have made and ordained this my last will & testament in manner & forme following (vizt). First and principally I humbly Comit & Comend my Soule to all mighty God my Creator. My body to the Earth to be decently Interred att the discretion of my heires and Executrix hereafter named in hopes & assuredly be provinge to have a Joyful Resurrection & to obtaine Everlasting life through the only merits of my above Savior Jesus Christ And as for that temporall Estate it hath pleased God to Endowe me withall (my juste debts beinge paid & funerall charges defrayed) I Devize give will & bequeath in mannor & forme followinge (that is to say).Impris - I fully, wholly, really, & absolutely Devize give will & bequeath all my Lands Tenements, Houses, orchards, fealds and all other things and appurtenances unto them belonging in Northampton County aforesaid in Virg(ini)a where I now live or else where Unto my Derist and lovinge wife Elizabeth Daniell her heires & assigns for ever to bee By her & them possessed Enjoyed, aliened, bargained, & Sold at her will and pleasure As also All my Negroes male & female men, weamon, & children whatsoever. In the name of God, Amen, the last will and testiment of Mr. John Dannell I doe first bequeath my soule to God Almighty and my body to the Earth from which it came.I do first give to my eldest son, John Dannell, all my lands, houses, orchard and plantation unto him and his heires forever, and if my aforesaid son dyes without heires, then to return to my son William Dannell, and heires forever, and hee dyes without heirs then to return to my eldest daughter ? and her heires forever, and if shee dyes without heirs then to return to my youngest daughter and her heires for ever, and for my psnell estate,. It is my will that itt should bee equally devided amonge my wife and children, and that my wife should have her lifetime in the plantacon and Land and my wife doe marry then in en dayes the estate to bee equally divided and appraised and to my younges daughter Mary I give two silver spoons above her parte and it is my will that my children shall one more colt apeice of the two mares that I now have , them and their encrease to the children and heires forever, and my to wholy executrix, and to my Godson George Bates, I give one cow calfe being a red calfe with some white in her face, her and encrease to him and his heires forever, and if my wife dyes, thns I leave my loving friends, Mr. Benjamin Buck and Mr. Edmond Bruer to looke after my children & there estates, while they come att age.

He was born about September 16, 1669 in  York County, Virginia Colony and died before May 18, 1724 in Burton Parish, York, Virginia Colony. He was the son of John Daniel II (1649-1688) and Mary Williams.
John married probably Ann Bates, born 1688 in Skimano, York, Virginia Colony, daughter of John Bates and Elizabeth Whitney Daniel, about 1700 in York, Virginia Colony.

They had the following children:
  • *John VI (1702-1762) , was born about 1702 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony and died about 1762 in Granville County, North Carolina Colony. He married Anne Williams, born about 1708 in Hanover County, Virginia Colony and died about 1761 in Granville County, North Carolina Colony, about 1725/28 in Virginia Colony.
    • They had the following children:
      • Sarah, Elizabeth, James, Martha, John Williams (1734-1809) V
  • Williams, was born about 1703 in Virginia and died about 1775 in Virginia. He married Margaret Unknown.

In the name of God Amen, I, John Daniel, of the Parish of Bruton of the County of York am week in body but of perfect sense and memory do make this my last will and testament bequeathing my Soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently buried at the direction of my _______________ Exet. Herein named and as for my temporal estate that it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath as followeth after my just debts and funeral charges are paid.IMPRINIS. I give and bequeath unto my eldest son John Daniel, the one half of that tract of land lying in Hanover County that I lately bought of John Bryant where he is now lately seated or this plantation in York County whereon I now live, which of of them he shall make choice of to him and his heirs forever, and the remainder part, after he hath made his choice, whether it be that in Hanover County or this plantation in York County, I give unto my son Williams Daniel and to him and his heirs forever.ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son James Daniel the other half of that tract of land in Hanover County lately bought, as aforesaid, to him and his heirs forever.ITEM. I give and bequeath to my loving son John Daniel my negro man named Tom with the bed and all other necessaries he carried up with him to keep house in Hanover County will all my (Musket guns?) to him and his heirs forever.ITEM.
